Approach

First session

RunningA client's first session is a consultation which involves talking about his/her lifestyle, exercise history and what you would like to achieve from your personal training sessions. I do health checks which involves answering questions on medical history and also take blood pressure. Once the talking is completed, we move on to doing some strength and endurance assessments to determine what level to start your training. All this helps me to design a suitable programme for you which will be the vehicle to achieving your goals whilst hopefully enjoying yourself along the way. Whilst sessions are always one hour long, the first session is usually slightly longer due to the talking/goal setting.

Weekly sessions

The next step is to get into a routine of weekly sessions (60 minutes long) where we will cover mobility, aerobic exercise, strength and conditioning work, core exercises and flexibility. Varying my workouts is something I strongly believe in to prevent boredom and complacency from setting in. Whilst the most important thing is to achieve results, it is also just as important that the client remains interested and motivated during sessions.

Ideally I like to see a client twice per week, but of course it depends on your time available, your motivation to work out and your budget.
